Advisory and consulting
I am open to conversation with prospective new clients. I think of this work in two categories, though the distinction blurs in practice:
Advisory relationships start from the topics that I write about on Soon Parted, along with the longer-form thinking and more detailed institutional knowledge that is doesn’t fit in my short newsletter posts. We set up regular lines of communication, and over time, I learn more about your priorities and areas of focus and our conversation develops accordingly.
In consulting relationships, I bring my expertise to bear on specific datasets, questions or projects that you are working on. Consulting relationships are in general more quantitative and technical than advisory relationships. On Soon Parted, you can see the presentable surface of this work, mostly in my graphs. Behind that surface there is a lot of data science, informed by the understanding of money and finance that you can read in my posts.
